As you may know, the Belen School Board voted to move all learning to remote instruction. This decision impacts many of the services provided to our students. One very important service is School Lunch.
To ensure School Lunch and Breakfast is available to the District Students, Belen Schools Transportation will begin meal deliveries utilizing our School Buses. The District has elected to operate under the CYFD program which allows us to deliver School Lunch and Breakfast to all kids ages 1 to 18 at "No Charge.” Kids are not required to be enrolled in the Belen School District to receive lunch and breakfast daily.
Meal Delivery Service will begin on November 30, 2020. We intend to deliver all meals between 11:00 am and noon, Monday through Friday. Meals will be dropped off at bus stops for eligible kids. We will set routes and drop off times at bus stops to be consistent as possible after the first few days.
Currently, Transportation Employees are contacting the students on their rosters and asking if they intend to participate.
If your student is not a bus rider or if you were not contacted and would like to participate in receiving meals, please contact Transportation at busridership@beleneagles.org or call us at (505)966-1176.
Please leave your name, address, and the number of students that require meals. We will advise you of the nearest bus stop and time of pickup. Again, the first few days the route times may vary as we work on our delivery routines.
Thank you in advance for your patience during this trying time.
