Our GSE Family and Jarales Community recently lost a former student, Wyatt Cordova Jaramillo. Wyatt graduated from BHS last year. He has two siblings at our school currently. We would like to come together as a community in Jarales to support the Cordova Jaramillo family. We are taking donations for the family as well as hosting a Spaghetti Dinner. Dinner will be from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, Nov. 30th.

Belen Consolidated Schools (BCS) is pleased to announce a special Town Hall event that provides the community with an opportunity to meet and interact with the candidates running for the BCS School Board. This event aims to foster transparency, engage the public, and enable voters to make informed decisions in the upcoming school board election.
During the Town Hall meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 5:30 pm, in the Belen Consolidated Schools boardroom located at 520 N. Main Street, the candidates for the BCS School Board will be invited to address the community. Judge John Chavez will serve as the moderator and will facilitate a question-and-answer session where the candidates will have the opportunity to respond to questions posed by Judge Chavez and developed by the District to provide candidates to share their vision for the Belen Consolidated Schools. BCS is also providing the community with the opportunity to provide questions that will be asked of the candidates. All submitted questions will be vetted by the District for appropriateness. Submissions chosen will be added to the list of questions asked by Judge Chavez. Questions can be submitted through Friday October 13.. GSE-Reminder tonight is our Fall Fest from 5:00 pm -6:30 pm. So GSE is the place to be tonight! We hope you can make it. This is a family event, so please plan on attending and participating in the event with your child. Your child must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend. This Friday, October 6th is our Annual Fall Fest from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
We do not have school on Monday, October 9th, in observance of Indigenous People Day.
Next week are Parent/Teacher Conferences. You should have a conference time scheduled already. If you don't your child's teacher should be reaching out very soon.
Thursday, October 12 is an abbreviated day, we dismiss at 1:51 pm.
There is no school for students on Friday the 13th.
Fall picture day is on Thursday, October 19th, forms will be sent home soon.
We will not have a Quarter 1 assembly due to Conferences and our Fall Fest. Any awards students have earned will be given our at Conferences.

Hello Parents,
Good news, our North Lot should be fixed in two weeks. We want to thank you so much for the patience you have had this year with our pick up process and getting your child to you safely.
For the time being and to help the traffic on Jarales road in the afternoon, we will start using the dirt road and dirt lot for Single rider pick ups. (Like last year). Will will use the inner loop of the parking lot for now. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the flow of traffic single file. You must have a pick up card issued from the school visible in your car prior to us releasing your child.
Single pick ups will be in the north parking lot line take the first right, the dirt road into the parking lot.
Siblings will be picked up together in the south parking lot line. For morning drop off please use both lines, it doesn't matter what line you are in the morning.
We will start this today, Monday the 25th.
Reminder there is No School on Monday, Sept. 4th. Enjoy your three-day weekend and Labor Day. Be Safe, and see you all on Tuesday, Sept 5th!
September Attendance Awareness Month runs from September 5th through the 29th.
Each individual student with perfect attendance for the month of September will receive a Perfect Attendance Certificate and an ice cream break/recess. Please be here every day. Attendance Matters.

In recent years, there has been a growing recognition within the educational community about the potential impact of grading practices on student motivation, learning outcomes, and overall well-being.
The educators in Belen Consolidated Schools, are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for our students. Thus, BCS is forming a committee that will critically examine our grading policies and recommend potential improvements. Eventually, the committee will involve various stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and administrative staff, to gather diverse perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of our current grading practices.
