Good morning HTJ Families. Some changes were made to our drive-through drop off and we are happy to announce that it ran much smoother this morning. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. As we continue to strive to make this process as efficient as we can, we ask that families please continue to: 1) maintain one-way traffic; 2) drive North on 10th street in order to enter the gates and school parking lot; 3) do not use side streets to try to get into the already established line. We are doing our best to keep everyone safe and screen all students before they enter school. By following these 3 simple steps you are helping us maintain a smooth, efficient and effective drop-off system. Again, we thank you for your help, patience and understanding as we strive to make this a smooth process for our Eaglet families. Mrs. Becker, Principal

Good morning HTJ Families. It feels like the first day of school - we are all so excited to have our Eaglets at school today. Just a quick message to our Eaglet families that were waiting in the drop-off line this morning - we thank you for you patience. As we work out the kinks, things should run more smoothly. As a reminder, families must enter the gate from the South end of 10th street; if families turn onto 10th street from Aragon Road, they will be directed to go to the end of the drop-off line in order to enter the parking lot. The gates will be closed and locked at 9:00 AM so that staff can head to their classes. If you happen to get locked out, please head over to the front of the school, park your car, walk to the front door, ring the door bell and a staff member will be happy to help you. Again, we thank you for your patience and appreciate your time and effort in getting your children to school. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, Principal

Good afternoon. As we prepare to return to school tomorrow (Tuesday, April 6) I want to remind our HTJ families of a few things: 1) If your children are returning to in-person learning, please remember to send them with the I Pad or lap top (plus the power cord) that was checked out to them; 2) After School: if families plan on picking up their children from the drive-through pick up lane, parents must have a 2020 - 2021 valid pick-up pass and it must be displayed for staff to see. If parents do not have a valid pick up pass, HTJ staff will direct families to drive to the front of the school; parents will have to park their vehicle and come to the front door to sign their child out; NOTE: in order to sign a child out of school, you must be 18 years or older, present a valid ID and must be listed on the child's demographics; 3) School begins at 8:55 AM and ends at 3:35 PM; tardy bell is at 9:05 AM. If you have any questions or concerns please call the school at (505) 966-2000 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We are happy to assist you in any way we can. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, HTJ Principal

Good morning HTJ Families. We are excited to have our students return to 4 days of in-person learning beginning Tuesday, April 6. A reminder that we do not have school Friday April 2 - Monday April 5 in observance of Easter break. School begins at 8:55 AM and ends at 3:35 PM. As stated in the letter that was sent home, please send all school devices (and the power cords) back to school, with your child, if your child is returning to 4 days of in-person learning. These devices will be used in the classrooms to help support their learning. If you have any questions or concerns please call the school between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We are always happy to help you in any way we can. Have a wonderful and safe Easter break. Mrs. Becker, Principal.

Good morning HTJ Families. I would like to take this time to kindly remind you of a few policies and procedures we have in place at HTJ: 1) Our day begins at 8:55 AM and ends at 3:35 PM. Your child will be marked tardy if they arrive at 9:05 AM or later. 2) If, for some reason, you need to change the way your child gets home (bus to pick-up or pick-up to bus) you must get prior approval from the Principal. 3) If you are dropping your child off at the front of the school, he/she must be accompanied by an adult to the front door where a staff member will meet you and your child; your child will be screened before being allowed to enter the building. We needan adult present for this so that you can answer the screening questions. 4) If you would like for your child to ride the bus to and from school you must contact the Transportation Department (505-966-1176) and fill out the necessary paperwork. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the above policies and procedures, or any other questions or concers on another topic, please call the office at (505) 966-2000. We will do our best to help you. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, Principal, HTJ

Good morning HTJ Families. GREAT NEWS! If you haven't already heard, NMPED announced yesterday that ALL NM schools will be open to in-person learning 5 days a week beginning April 5 - this includes BCS. What I need from my Remote HTJ families (these are families that have chosen to have their child learn from home Monday - Friday) is this: are you willing or are you not willing to send your child back to school for in-person learning 5 days a week. Remote families: we need this information as soon as possible in order to begin making any necessary adjustments in our daily school schedule. Please call the school at (505) 966-2000 to let us know if you do or do not want your child to return to in-person learning. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, Principal

Good afternoon HTJ Families and Students. You should have received a message from BCS earlier this afternoon. I would like to take this time to help clarify what this means for our Eaglets. Per NMPED, effective immediately, we will no longer be able to provide 4 days of in-person learning to our Special Education and Bilingual students. The reasoning behind this is because we are not allowed to mix Cohort A and Cohort B students. Also, effective tomorrow (Thursday, March 4), bus transportation will only be picking up Cohort B students. Your child's teacher will be contacting you to let you know which cohort your child is in. We apologize for this inconvience and for any hardships this may cause you. We will continue to work with you and do our best to provide the best education for your child that we can. If you have any questions or concerns please call the school office at 966-2000 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We will do our best to answer any questions you have. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, Principal

Good afternoon HTJ Families and Students. First and foremost, thank you for your patience and understanding during this most difficult school year. Please know that Belen Consolidated Schools have been working diligently on plans and safety measures to return students safely and effectively. At the School Board meeting that was held on Tuesday, February 23 it was determined that elementary schools will open for students to return to school, following the hybrid learning model, on Monday, March 1. The hybrid learning model has not changed from the fall semester: students returning to in-person learning have been placed in cohorts: Cohort A students will attend school on Monday and Tuesday; Cohort B students will attend school on Thursday and Friday. We also have students that will remain in the remote learning model. Your child’s teacher has received their new, updated class rosters and they will be in contact with you. As we anticipate the return of our Eaglets, I would like to take this time to remind you of our start time and end time: 8:55 AM - 3:35 PM. Your child's teacher has posted a letter on you Schoology accounts with more information for you regarding safety protocols and expectations for hybrid and remote learning. This letter will also be mailed out to you early next week. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please call the office at 966-2000. Thank you. Mrs. Becker, Principal, HTJ.
