Kathleen Pickering, Belen Public Library Director, and Community Services Administrator, and artist and educator Paula Castillo are excited to announce the second show in a series of student art exhibits hosted by the Belen Public Library. This show will coincide with the City of Belen's annual Scarecrow Festival on October 30th. Artists and Elementary Arts Educators Alecia Cargile, Paula Castillo, and Laura Wacha will exhibit work made by student artists from La Merced, Central, and Jaramillo Elementary. The student work is charming, dynamic, and joyful and celebrates our young students' return to in-person school following the COVID-19 epidemic.
Come out for the Scarecrow Festival on October 30th and stop in the Belen Public Library from 10:00 am-5:00 pm to see this exciting student artwork in the community room.

Central Elementary parents and families: on Friday students are allowed to come dressed in costume for Halloween. Please see that the costume does not include a full face mask and anything of blood and violence. Also, in keeping Covid safe practices we are not allowing food and snacks brought in for parties. Please do not send any cupcakes, snacks, chips, candy, etc. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Central Elementary parents and families: report cards for the 1st quarter have been sent home. Please check with your child to get your copy of their report card. There are not parent-teacher conferences built into this year's school calendar. However, you may request to have a conference with your child's teacher. Conferences can be held via a phone call or a virtual meeting in Microsoft Teams. Please contact the school if you would like to set up a conference with your child's teacher.

Central Elementary invites parents and families to visit our Book Fair. We will host an Open House night for the Book Fair Wednesday October 6th from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. In keeping Covid-safe practices, we ask that each student only have 2 guests for visiting. All visitors to the Book Fair must wear a mask.
