This event will take place on Wednesday, April 17th, from 12:30 P.M. to 1:15 P.M. for all of our new incoming 24-25 Kindergarten students. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet the teachers, tour the classrooms, and get acquainted with the environment where your child will be spending their kindergarten days. Attention parents! Candy money is due this Friday the 12th. If you are unable to sell the entire box of candy you can bring it in along with the money of sold candy bars, as long as it adds up to $60. Hello Parents and Guardians of La Merced Elementary 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. In the next two weeks we will be administering the Super bowl of State Tests, the required New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement, or NM-MSSA. It is important that your child is present, well rested, and has a good breakfast. For this week, grade levels will be testing on the following days: 6th grade reading, Monday April 8, 5th grade reading Tuesday April 9, 4th grade reading April 10, 3rd grade reading April 11, and 4th grade math Friday April 12. We appreciate your help in reinforcing that it is important that your child take his or her time, read the questions carefully, and answer to the best of their ability. Thank you.

Hello Parents and Guardians of La Merced Elementary, This Monday, April 8, there will be a solar eclipse which will start at 11:15 and finish at 1:45. It will be at maximum eclipse at 12:30. As a safety precaution, we will be keeping students inside for recess and PE classes during this time. Please do remind your children that they can damage their eyes by looking directly at the sun. Our Kindergarten team will be having a meet and greet with all new incoming 24-25 Kindergarten students on April 17, 2024, at 12:30-1:15 here at the school.

Important Information for La Merced Elementary: Students will be dismissed at 1:51 PM today due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. There will be No School on Friday, February 16th due to Parent/Teacher Conferences and Monday, February 19th due to President's Day. We will return to a regular schedule on Tuesday, February 20th.

Scholastic Book Fair hours this week are Monday Tuesday Wednesday from 8 to 4. Thursday from 8 to 7 PM during parent teacher conferences. We will also have the Boba truck outside or anyone that would like to purchase Boba as well. They will be there until 7 PM and Friday from eight to noon. If they have any questions, you can always call Ms. Nancy Saiz in the library at 505-966-2126.

Hello Parents and Guardians. This is a reminder of the 4-day weekend for your children. We have parent-teacher conferences on Feb 15th and February 16th. On Thursday Feb. 15, students will be released at 1:51 and busses will depart at 2:01. On Friday Feb 16th there will be no school because of parent-teacher conferences all day. On Monday, Feb 19th there is no school because of President’s day. Please do schedule a conference with your child’s teacher if you haven’t already done so. Thank you
