Happy Sunday La Merced Families: We have had trouble with finding ways to get beginning of year forms completed since many students were full remote and were not at school for us to send the packet home with them. One form WE MUST have on file is the Technology Form, especially since we are conducting classes remotely. Please take a couple minutes to complete this form. It is very short and should take less than 2-minutes to complete, IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHETHER OR NOT YOU ALREADY COMPLETED THE FORM, PLEASE GO AHEAD AND COMPLETE THIS FORM AGAIN. You DO need to complete a different one for EACH student you have at La Merced. Thank you for your assistance! La Merced Parents and Guardians: We will be starting our Quarterly Illuminate Testing next week. Here is a letter with instructions that the district has provided. Please remember that this is an assessment in which students should complete on their own with NO assistance. This will help us identify learning gaps for your child so we can see how we can best help them moving forward. This is the first time we are adminstering the test school-wide from home so we are depending on you to ensure our data is as accurate as it can be! Thank you all!!! Good Afternoon La Merced Families: I am including the link to our La Merced Remote Learning Schedule. As you can see, there is a bit more information I need to include such as teacher office hours. I will send out a completed schedule at a later date (hopefully before end of day tomorrow). However, THIS schedule includes the times in which your student will need to access their “Live” instruction. Again, “Live” instruction, which I highlighted in yellow, is when students should be on a TEAM meeting with their teacher. Teachers will also have set “office hours” in which any parent can contact their child’s teacher for help. I am also going to ask that parents respect that teachers work day ends at 3:40 pm. I am asking parents if you have issues after the teacher’s workday that you either contact them the next day during their office hours OR email them and they will respond during their office hours. This has taken a toll on all of us. Just because we are teaching remote does not mean we are on call 24/7. Thank you for respecting that. Also, the district has set up a HELP desk for technology issues. The number to call if you are having issues is (505)966-2070. Here is the Remote Learning Schedule. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we move ahead with FULL REMOTE LEARNING! From: Mrs. Montoya https://www.beleneagles.org/o/lme/browse/179788

Good Afternoon La Merced Families! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! As mentioned before, we will be moving to full remote instruction for the entire school. We will begin our “Live” instruction tomorrow, November 30th. Students are expected to log into their Schoology accounts as well as participate in “Live” instruction. I know there are some instances where it is not possible for students to join the “live” instruction so for those cases teachers will be recording and posting ALL “live” lessons to their Schoology pages for students to access later. Remember, attendance will be taken based on WORK COMPLETION for the week. I am going to be working with the schools Leadership team to create more specific criteria on attendance which will be sent out later. I am including a link below which provides step-by-step instructions on how your student can access their Schoology page as well as access TEAM meetings that begin tomorrow. I know there are going to be problems as we begin to move to full remote, but we will work on fixing those problems as quickly as we can. You can help by making sure your student can log into Schoology and TEAMS today to eliminate those types of issues. I will be sending out the La Merced Remote Schedule by grade level next. Thank you!! From: Mrs. Montoya https://www.beleneagles.org/o/lme/browse/179787

Good Afternoon La Merced Families! As you may already know, starting Monday, November 30th, the school board voted that ALL students will be participating in Remote learning. This means we will no longer be offering the hybrid learning model to any student until further notice. It is important to us that we make this transition as smoothly as possible for our students. Because of the class sizes for our remote teacher, some students will be reassigned to another teacher within the grade level. We are in the process of reorganizing our class rosters and your student’s teacher will be in contact with you. We will also be sending out a schedule that each grade level will be following as we move forward with remote learning. Also, we are out of devices and are currently waiting for our next order to arrive for those of you who have let us know you still need a device. Unfortunately, these devices are on back order and are taking a lot longer to come in. We will be contacting you when they arrive. If you need internet services, the district has sent out a survey for you to respond to. It is important that you complete that survey, so the district knows what your needs are. I am including the link to this survey for those of you who have not completed it yet. The link to the survey can also be found at beleneagles.org. As we move forward, please make sure your student is logging into their Schoology account for further information from their teacher. During the remote learning, students will be expected to participate in “live lessons” as attendance will be taken based on participation and work completion. Thank you for your patience as we get all of this figured out.
