As a reminder, students will be out of school starting tomorrow, December 21. They will return on Monday, January 8th. There will also be no school on January 15th for MLK day.

We hope this message finds you well. As we approach the holiday season, we are reaching out to our Thunderbird community for support. Our school nurse is currently in need of donations to assist our students in various ways. If you have the means to contribute, we would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
The nurse is specifically seeking donations for the following items:
1. Boys Jackets
2. Boys and Girls Pants (sizes 5, 6, 7, 8)
3. Boys and Girls Underwear
4. Boys and Girls Shoes (smaller sizes preferably)
If you are able to donate any of the mentioned items, please feel free to drop them off at the school office during regular school hours. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our students, especially during the holiday season.

As we approach the upcoming Winter Break, we've noticed a considerable number of coats left behind by students here at school. We kindly ask you to stop by and check our lost and found collection to retrieve any coats that belong to your students. Our lost and found area is currently overflowing, and we want to ensure that all students have their belongings, especially as the colder weather sets in.
Please take a moment to visit the lost and found area and reclaim any items before the Winter Break begins. Any unclaimed jackets will be collected and donated to local homeless shelters, contributing to our community's well-being.

We will be meeting in our library. You will have a chance to see all the generous donations from our students, families, and community members. It’s not too late to donate. Hello La Merced Families, tomorrow the cafeteria will be providing a turkey roast lunch for a Thanksgiving meal for your children. Because of limited space, we will not be able to accommodate families to join their children at lunch time. However, I would like to invite our parents to a “Coffee with the Principal” event this Friday, 11/17 from 7:30-8:30 AM in our library to discuss how parents can continue to help moving La Merced forward and to answer questions you may have about the school.

Important Notice Regarding Student Pick-Up Changes
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Starting Wednesday, November 15th, there will be a change in the procedure for student pick-up at our school. After 2:45 PM, parents will no longer be allowed to pick up students directly from the office.
If you need to pick up your student after this time, please contact the school office in advance. We will guide your student to the designated Parent Pick-Up line.
Additionally, kindly notify the office before 2:45 PM if there are any changes in your student's transportation arrangements (e.g., switching from bus to pick-up or vice versa).
Your cooperation is appreciated as we strive to ensure the safety and efficiency of our student pick-up process.
